Do You Feel
By The Rocket Summer
Run To You
see relatedI Wanna Say I'll Never Do It Again, But, I Cant. But I will try.
So, I've loved the Rocket Summer for quite some time now...but have managed to never hear this song. I heard it today when I was driving home from the mall, and I have listened to it like ten times since...
Run To You - The Rocket Summer.
Turn, look
Look out and see
Do you see me?
Cause I think I see you
I have been some other place
The wind that I chase
It all just leads back to you
Oh, how I'm still
So still
It's sobering
But, still, I ran
I knew you
When I was young
But, where am I now?
That I'm a man
Run, to you
I will run, I will run
I will move, right on through
All these things that I have done
And you'll take me back
I don't know why
I wanna say I'll never do it again
But, I can't
But, I will try
Turn, look
Look out and see
Do you see me?
Cause I think I see you
I have been some other place
The wind that I chase
It all just leads back to you
Oh, how I miss
What you miss
But, I will fall
Time and again
And I will say
That I'm true to you
But, I'm a cheat
I don't understand
So, I'll run to you
I will run, I will run
I will move, right on through
All these things that I have done
And you'll take me back
I don't know why
I wanna say I'll never do it again
But, I can't
I wanna say I'll never do it again
But, I can't
I wanna say I'll never do it again
But, I can't
But, I will try
So the girls in the video are annoying, but I love how he introduces the song... to listen to just the song you can just go ahead and buy the whole cd, because you will probably want to anyway. -
What is the most played song on your mp3 player? Why is that your top played track?
My most played song is Your Love is Strong, by Jon Foreman. It's just such a calming and powerful song, I love Jon Foreman's rendition of the Lord's Prayer, it reminds me that it is not just something that churches say as a routine, but that it is something that is vital and relevant. :)

What would you do if you were stuck on dial-up?
It's not the worst thing in the world, you just don't waste you time watching videos on Youtube, or downloading music. I had Dialup until I left for college, which was in August. When I go home...it is still dial up. I spend minimal time on the internet, and most of my time in real life with my friends.

She's Somebody's Baby Still.
She yells,
"If you were homeless, sure as hell you'd be drunk
Or high or trying to get there or begging for junk

When the people don't want you they just throw you money for beer"
Her name was November she went by Autumn or Fall
It was seven long years since the Autumn when all
Of her nightmares grew fingers
And all of her dreams grew tears
She's somebody's baby
Somebody's baby girl
She's somebody's baby
Somebody's baby girl
And she's somebody's baby still
She screams,
"Well if you've never gone it alone
Well then go ahead, you better throw the first stone"
You got one lonely stoner waiting to bring to her knees
She dreams about Heaven, remembering hell
As the nightmare she visits and knows all too well
Every now and again
When she's sober she brushes her teeth

She's somebody's baby
Somebody's baby girl
She's somebody's baby
Somebody's baby girl
And she's somebody's baby still
Today was her birthday, strangely enough
When the cops found her body at the foot of the bluff
The anonymous caller this morning tipped off the police
They got her ID from the dental remains
The same fillings intact, the same nicotine stains
The birth and the death were both over
With no one to grieve

She's somebody's baby
Somebody's baby girl
She's somebody's baby
Somebody's baby girl
And she's somebody's baby still
She's somebody's baby still
Somebody's Baby - Jon Foreman. Pictures of me by Mandi Gummels.
Rainy shoot, but it turned out well!

Wear Your Seatbelts! Classical Argument Paper
Seatbelts Save LivesA news release by the Missouri Department of Transportation included a shocking statistic that “approximately 69 percent of the 1,096 people who died in Missouri traffic crashes in 2006 were not wearing a seat belt.” At present, Missouri law makes failure to wear a seatbelt a “secondary” offense. This means that the only way a driver can be cited for not wearing a seatbelt is if they were stopped for something else such as speeding. Many other states have made not wearing a seatbelt a primary offense, Missouri should as well.
Even though the law wouldn’t cause every person to wear a seatbelt, it would increase usage enough to save lives. A report by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration estimates that in 2006, 15,383 lives were saved because of seat belts and that if the seatbelt had been used in all crashes, an additional 5,441 lives would have been saved. In the American Journal of Public Health, David Houston reports that “…every 1 percentage point increase in the national safety belt use rate translates to 136 fewer occupant fatalities.” The National Center for Statistics and Analysis has a chart which shows that in 2008, the average use of seatbelts in states with primary laws was 88%, while it was only 73% in states that had secondary laws. From this, estimates support a conclusion that a 15% higher seatbelt use in those states that have secondary laws would mean an average of about 2040 lives saved. “If Missouri were to enact a primary seat belt law, seat belt use is estimated to increase by 11 percent - saving approximately 90 lives each year” (MoDot)
The decrease in fatalities and serious injuries due to not wearing seatbelts would be beneficial to society because it would reduce overall insurance rates and medical costs. Because the injuries of an unbelted crash victim are generally more severe, so are the costs to treat them. “The crashes and injuries increase everyone's insurance rates and cost taxpayers through increased premiums in Medicare and Medicaid. On average, inpatient hospital care costs for an unbelted crash victim are 50 percent higher than those for a crash victim who was wearing a seat belt.” (Lancaster Gazette) The 2006 Motor Vehicle Occupant Protection Facts states that “…the use of seat belts saved society $585 billion in medical care, lost productivity, and other injury-related economic costs since 1975. In 2004, seat belt nonuse alone caused an estimated $18 billion in economic costs to society.”
Seatbelt usage is already given secondary enforcement status in Missouri. “Secondary enforcement sends motorists the signal that the seat belt law is not all that important, because motorists can violate the law in the presence of a law enforcement officer and know that they will not be cited if no other infractions are committed. Even police officers take a secondary enforcement statute less seriously than a primary enforcement statute” (Houston). Imagine if speeding were not a primary offense. Speeding is something that people know is dangerous but it still happens. If that were not a primary offense, there would surely be many more people who would be in accidents because of it.
Some people argue that wearing seatbelts should be a personal choice, not something enforced by a law. “Although personal freedom carries a lot of weight when it comes to laws in a free society, personal responsibility ends when it becomes the responsibility of others” (Lancaster Gazette). This becomes the responsibility of others by the shown expenses of unbelted crash victims in comparison to belted victims. With the evidence of seatbelts saving lives, one would think more people could make that choice without a law. Unfortunately, that is not the case. This law is not the government trying to control American drivers, but rather an attempt to save lives.
Another issue is that people fear this law would be used in a discriminatory fashion. They suggest that this is because police can pick and choose who to pull over. However, there are already existing requirements that all stops be documented concerning race. The requirements were adopted in Illinois initially to prevent such discriminatory actions by police. They are now nationwide.
There is also the myth seatbelts will actually hurt an occupant more than not wearing one. While seatbelts can cause injuries to the shoulders and chest, they are not nearly as serious as being thrown from a car. In fatal crashes in 2002, 73 percent of passenger vehicle occupants who were totally ejected from the vehicle were killed” (Traffic Safety Facts 2002). Leading causes of seatbelt injuries are not because the person was wearing their seatbelt, but because the person was wearing it incorrectly. If it is too high or too loose on the waist it could injure your abdominals, and when occupants put the shoulder strap behind them they might as well not be wearing a seatbelt. There is that slight possibility that a driver could drive a car into water and be unable to get out of the seatbelt. If a driver is worried of being trapped underwater, tools can be purchased to cut the seatbelt.
Overall, the evidence is compelling that a primary seatbelt law is one Missouri should endorse. Putting on a seatbelt is a three second action that could be worth your lifetime. It would save lives and money, and make it more likely to be obeyed than a secondary offense. With so much to gain at so low a cost, the decision should be easy.
